Think Therefore

Muse, contemplate or ponder. Often best served with a drink. All I know is the world's a wonder… therefore I think.

Surroundings

in Poems

The distraction of a cacophony
Obsessing, awake, disrupted
People moving past unacceptably
Rupturing, annoyed, corrupted

The comfort of familiarity
Relaxing, sedate, productive
A window through which to observe and see
Inspiring, driven, reflective

A room filled with favourable faces
Supporting, at ease, accepted
Walls decked with portals to far-off places
Daydreaming, happy, contented

Routine

in Poems

Rushed working days, seldom pausing
Social weekends, often exhausting
Enforced breaks, appear daunting

Quiet evenings, can be restful
Meeting with friends, drinks plentiful
Pretentious pubs, frequently dull

Family call, lengthy questions
A home cooked meal, same conversations
After dinner, lost intentions

Past

in Poems

Reflecting on days gone by
Tears well up but you never cry
Moments of joy held out of time

A fear creeps into your eye
Did you ever say that goodbye
Regret without reason or rhyme

Smiles from a previous high
Words shared under a cloudy sky
Precious gems found amongst the grime
